Zur Photokina 1954 brachte Leidolf als Neuheit das Lordomat-System heraus. Dieses
Kamerasystem brachte f�r den Hersteller Leidolf den Durchbruch. Die Kamera bestach durch
ein solide gefertigtes und handliches Geh�use, verbunden mit der M�glichkeit, verschiedene Wechselobjektive zu verwenden. Aufsteckbare Teile, wie Wechselsucher und Belichtungsmesser rundeten das �beraus positive Erscheinungsbild harmonisch ab. Da man es geschickt verstand,
bestm�gliche Qualit�t zu einem g�nstigen Preis anzubieten, wurde das Lordomat-System
zu einem �Renner�. Insbesondere bei jenen, welche sich schon damals nicht den
Namen - um jeden Preis ! -leisten wollten oder konnten. Die Verschl�sse Prontor (SVS) wurden
von Gauthier bezogen. Die Optiken waren vom Feinsten und boten keinerlei
Anlass zur Kritik. Der Vierlinser Lordonar 1:2,8/50mm und der lichtstarke Sechslinser Lordon 1:1,9/50mm standen namhafteren Mitbewerbern in keiner Weise nach. Gerechnet waren beide
Optiken von EMO-Optik in Wetzlar und wurden bei Enna in M�nchen hergestellt.
Die Wechselobjektive 35, 90 und 135mm baute die Firma Schacht in Ulm.
