Polaroid stellte 1972 erstmals eine Sofortbildkamera mit Spiegelreflextechnik
vor, die SX –70 Land Kamera. Im Laufe der Jahre wurde die Kamera in immer
neuen Varianten vorgestellt, Die 1977 vorgestellte Alpha 1 Modell 2 besitzt
anstelle des früheren Metallgehäuses ein Kunststoffgehäuse. Die letzte
Polaroid SX-70 Spiegelreflex wurde 1992 hergestellt danach gab es nochmals
eine Variante mit dem lichtstärkeren Polaroid 600 Film. In punkto Qualität
der Bilder ist die SX-70 Reflex immer noch ein Meilenstein in der Sofortbildfotografie.
